Connect a WordPress or other website
About five minutes. You create the account here, name your store, generate one key and paste it into your site. There is no app to install and nothing to buy first.
-
1
On the Connect your store screen, choose "I am on WordPress, or another website". Shopify sellers take the other option; this one covers WordPress, WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace and plain HTML.
-
2
Name your store and pick a category, then click Create my store. The name you type is the name shoppers read on your Store page, in your review emails and in the Reviewit directory, and it decides your web address, so type your real trading name. Nothing is created until you press the button.
-
3
On the Connect your website screen, click Generate key. This key belongs to your Reviewit account rather than to any shop platform, which is why you generate it here instead of receiving it.
-
4
A key id and a secret appear. The secret is shown once and never again, so copy both before you leave the screen. If you lose the secret, generate a new key: the old one stops working.
-
5
In your WordPress admin, open Reviewit Reviews, paste the key id and the secret into its connect form and click Connect. On any other platform, paste the embed snippet from your dashboard into your template instead. Load one page of your site, and your dashboard reports the connection as live.
If you installed the plugin first
Then it is shorter. In your WordPress admin open Reviewit Reviews and click Connect with Reviewit. You create your account, approve the connection on one screen, and the plugin receives its key by itself. There is nothing to copy and no secret to keep.
